Marco Alverà is the co-founder of Zhero, a renewable energy company, as well as a shareholder and CEO of TES, the world’s leading hydrogen and renewable gas company. Mr. Alverà has more than 20 years of senior management experience in Europe’s most relevant energy companies. He is also the author of The Hydrogen Revolution, selected as one of the Financial Times’ best books of 2021. Mr. Alverà began his career at Goldman Sachs in London before starting and selling a telecom company, then moving to Enel, today one of the world’s largest green electricity companies. He subsequently moved to Eni, where he worked for more than 10 years until becoming chief midstream officer supervising the largest European gas portfolio. From 2016 to 2022 he was the CEO of Snam, where he positioned the company as an international leader in green hydrogen and green gas infrastructure. Stefano Buono, a nuclear physicist and successful entrepreneur, started his career working for 10 years with Nobel Laureate Carlo Rubbia at CERN and CRS4, in the field of accelerator driven systems and nuclear waste transmutation. He founded Advanced Accelerator Applications in 2002; the company was listed on Nasdaq until its acquisition by Novartis for $3.9 billion. He co-founded and incorporated U.K.-headquartered nuclear technology company newcleo, in 2021, and he now serves the company as CEO. Mr. Buono is the chairman of various organizations, and the founder of Elysia Capital, his family office. The author of numerous scientific publications, he received his master’s degree in physics from the University of Turin.
Laura Cha is the chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. and a member of the Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council. Mrs. Cha is also an independent nonexecutive director of Ant Group Co., Ltd.; a senior international adviser of Foundation Assets Management Sweden AB; and a member of Sotheby’s international advisory board. In addition, she is vice chairman of the International Advisory Council of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and a director of the World Federation of Exchanges. Mrs. Cha became the first, and to date, the only person outside Mainland China to join the Central Government of the People’s Republic of China at the vice ministerial rank when she was appointed as vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission in 2001. Natarajan Chandra is the chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company for Tata Group. Mr. Chandra joined the board of Tata Sons in 2016 and was appointed chairman in 2017. He also chairs the boards of several group operating companies, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), of which he was the CEO from 2009 to 2017. His main research interests are the development of machine learning and statistical methodology, and large-scale computational systems and architectures, for solving problems involving automated learning, reasoning, and decision making in artificial, biological, and social systems. Prof. Xing has served on the editorial boards of leading scientific journals, including the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Annals of Applied Statistics, PLOS Journal of Computational Biology, IEEE Journal of Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Machine Learning Journal, and the Journal of Machine Learning Research. He was a member of the U.S. Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Science and Technology (ISAT) advisory group, and was elected as fellow of the Association of Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), American Statistical Association (ASA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Career award, the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator award, the IBM Open Collaborative Research Faculty award, and the Carnegie Science award.
