John Cheng is vice president of business operations and corporate development for Ford Greater China. Prior to this role, John was vice president of Business Operations and Innovation.
In the more than 25 years he worked at Ford, John has held a wide variety of roles, including business development, strategy, engineering, marketing and general management. Most recently as Executive director of electrification and AV for Ford Asia Pacific, where he led a dedicated team to accelerate Ford’s EV programs in China.
John was a key member of the team that developed the strategy to bring Lincoln to China and led the cross-functional team responsible for launching the historic luxury brand, laid foundation for Lincoln’s successful growth in China.
During John’s tenure in China, he also served in leadership roles within Ford’s joint venture operations, including as vice president and chief financial officer of Changan Ford Mazda Engine Co. Ltd. and as senior director of vehicle programs and business for the Changan Ford Mazda joint venture assembly plant in Nanjing. He played a key role in the planning, business establishment, plant construction, and vehicle launch of the JV.
John joined Ford in 1992 as a design engineer in Ford North America Powertrain Operations and later worked as vehicle engineering supervisor and chassis engineering supervisor for the Large Vehicle Platform.
